TOMORO'S THINKING DAY!!

so let me tell u abit about this day..
i actuallie went n found out quite alot abt this... =)

so here goes...
on the 22nd of february each year, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world celebrate World Thinking Day.

World Thinking Day was first created in 1926 at the fourth Girl Guide/Girl Scout International Conference, held at Girl Scouts of the USA’s Camp Edith Macy (now called Edith Macy Conference Center). Conference attendees decided that there should be a special day when Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all around the world think of each other and give thanks and appreciation to their "sister" Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

they chose 22nd of February coz it was the mutual birthdates of Lord Baden-Powell n his wife Olave...
thats like so cool rite..? having the same birthday as ur hubbie...
i bet when they found out abt each other's bdae it was a very schweet moment.. =)

In 1932, at the seventh World Conference,[this year, july 2008, the 33RD world conference is gonna be at johannesburg, south africa!!] held in Poland, it was suggested by a Belgian delegate that since birthdays usually involve presents, girls could show their appreciation and friendship on Thinking Day not only by extending warm wishes to each other but also by offering a voluntary contribution to the World Association. Olave wrote to all Girl Guides and Girl Scouts after this idea was adopted asking them to help support the Movement by donating just a penny.

the letter, if ure interested... is HERE

each year, they have this special theme to think about..
this year.. its WATER..

sister guides n girlscouts are having like.. tonnes of activities everywhere!!
mostly its a fundraising thing to help more of our sisters in holding their activities...
n tomoro.. im not sure if they're having any fundraising thing... i guess not..
but we're wearing full u coz its sorta like a hsbm tradition.. XD
anyway,

HAPPY THINKING DAY!!
